Executive Assistant

This is a position for a rock star communicator, who is great with people, follow-ups and schedules. You should be a great communicator in-person, in writing and over the phone.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the CEO’s calendar including making all necessary phone calls to ensure arrangements are accurately made and updated accordingly to continuously-changing event schedules and meeting requirements, coordinating schedules of all meeting attendees and obtaining any information necessary for reference by meeting attendees
  • Booking meeting venues and rooms
  • Corresponding with government and industry VIP’s over the phone and online in a timely and gracious manner
  • Developing strong relationships with government offices and callers and maintaining a fine-tuned sense of priorities and time sensitivity

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years prior experience supporting senior-level executives
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of administrative experience
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); prefer experience with Google Drive Apps and online administrative tools as well
  • Extensive experience in administrative preparation of company presentations, meetings and events
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor or team member in collaborative environments
  • Strong customer service mentality with a positive, “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while working under pressure
  • Act as a liaison for the company in outreach efforts to foster sustainable internal and external positive community relations

  • Planning and developing event outreach emails and social media campaigns

  • Documenting processes and procedures for marketing efforts and programs

Event Manager

Do you love bringing people together for extraordinary events? FedScoop is one of the most exciting and innovative events companies in DC and we are looking for another enthusiastic, passionate superstar to join our events team in our Georgetown office!

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing registration for meetings: managing the registration database; monitoring online registrations; compilng weekly and final registration reports; reconciling registration data post events; responding to event related questions; manage on-site registration.
  • Coordinating event logistics with multiple vendors.
  • Working with the events team on event development and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities to include- speaker communication and outreach, attendee communication.
  • Providing on-site support at events as requested
  • Assisting with the development of the events marketing strategy to include: marketing of events, social media outreach and press releases.
  • Managing event hosting duties, and interaction with clients on a consistent basis.
  • Executing agreements and payments, and ensuring all moving pieces of events are on time and on budget.
  • Supporting special projects as required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as meetings and events are scheduled.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable car to transport event supplies and attend external meetings/events.
  • Bachelor’s degree/ 5+ Years experience.

Editorial Internship

About the opportunity

FedScoop is one of the most strategic and innovative media companies currently making an impact in Washington DC representing the biggest Tech companies in the country. We are now accepting applications for Winter and Spring 2013 interns!

The Internship

We’re looking for enthusiastic, hard-working and skilled interns for the fall 2013. Interns will be responsible for writing news stories for FedScoop, transcribing interviews, conducting research, assisting with video interviews, fact-checking and other administrative duties.

Interns will have the opportunity to interact with high-level executives in the federal IT community and become a part of a rapidly growing organization.

Writing experience and a good eye for news are a must, as well as a willingness to throw yourself into the world of government and technology. We love go-getters, so you will have the opportunity to pitch and pursue own stories

Knowledge of technology and federal IT is a plus, but not necessary if you’re willing to work hard. University juniors, seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

The internship is paid and based in our Georgetown office. Students can receive course credit for the internship.
