Tech Reporter

FedScoop has an awesome team of journalists, and we now have an immediate need for an additional fulltime reporter who will cover all things government tech, including trends and policies.

Candidates should have at least two years’ reporting experience, ideally in online media, or familiarity with federal agencies. Recent graduates will be considered as long as they have some journalism-related experience or a keen interest in government or technology.

Our office is located in the heart of Georgetown, just off Wisconsin Avenue.

Skills

  • Outstanding news judgment, with an ability to report and write on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong grasp of grammar, attention to detail and exceptional people skills.
  • Working knowledge of AP Style.
  • Knowledge of SEO and WordPress preferred.

Background

  • Writing in-depth enterprise stories on technology, and interviewing thought leaders in the space for personality profiles.
  • Covering quick spot news related to technology.
  • Researching and crafting monthly or quarterly FedScoop Tech Briefs on various technologies (big data, cyber, cloud, mobile, open source, etc.) or trending issues to educate decision makers, legislators and other influencers in government and industry.
  • Writing and editing white papers.
  • Attending and covering related events to stay on top of emerging trends and strengthen ties with the federal IT community.

Account Executive

A unique opportunity for a sales rock star to represent the most successful brand in the Gov IT market! This role is for important part of our team and will report to our CEO; a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated account executive is a hunter and closer. You will need to be excited about the world of government IT, digital marketing, online advertising and VIP events to really succeed in this spot. You must have a refined approach to sales with some practical experience.

Project Manager- Marketing Campaigns

Let me guess…you are a creative genius who likes to make your marketing ideas a reality. We are looking for that person in our DC office.  We want a project leader who can take digital and online campaigns to the next level.  We’ve got the platform and the best team in DC to work with- we’re looking for someone who is awesomesauce!

Skills

You’re a social media guru with the ability to design and manage campaigns with client buy in/input. Have experience managing campaigns and can work with others to deliver results.  Should know and understand how to make these things happen: lead gen, market outreach, and media planning

Have you worked on marketing campaigns with Fortune 500 clients in the Tech space? Were they good? Was the client happy?  That’s a great start…

  • 3 years Project Management Work

Internship

About the opportunity

The Internship

FedScoop is looking for several tech-savvy and creative interns seeking experience in communications, journalism and business. FedScoop interns provide support for events, communications, circulation and sales. Our interns will work directly with the FedScoop staff and gain insight into, social media, event building, research, writing and publishing.
The internship is paid. Students can receive course credit for the internship. We recommend university juniors and above apply (or equal industry experience). This position is based in Washington DC.
