Graphic Designer

FedScoop is seeking a Graphic Designer with at least 5 years experience in both print and web design. Candidates must work in our premises in Washington, D.C.

Overview

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creative direction of FedScoop’s campaigns and FedScoop event.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creative process including but not limited to: layout, typeface, coloring, web design, illustration, photography etc.
  • Ensure that the look and feel of every project is in line with FedScoop’s brand standards while also working to be both innovative and visually appealing.
  • Provide strategic guidance for marketing, web and event materials.
  • Design and create print and web materials for FedScoop that include but not limited to:
  • Event programs
  • Event postcards
  • Signage
  • Brochures
  • Print Ads
  • Web graphics (Include but not limited to: HTML email templates, banner ads, social media ads, interactive graphics etc.)
  • Media Guide
  • Stay up to date on design programs and applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Production Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain internal electronic and hard copy files for all in house design work.
  • Maintain electronic archives and storage of all back up files.
  • Work closely with printer to coordinate correct digital output.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, Strategic Communications or equivalent with experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years creative design experience in print and interactive design.

Requirements

  • Web design skills and knowledge in: HTML, PHP, CSS, WordPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, intermediate copy writing and strong proofreading skills
  • Expert knowledge in: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Fireworks
  • Cross Platform knowledge between Mac and PC, including a strong command of Microsoft office applications
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
