Bill Marion named Air Force deputy CIO

Bill Marion has been named deputy CIO of the Air Force. (FedScoop)

Bill Marion has been promoted to deputy CIO of the Air Force.

Marion, who was the CIO of Air Force’s personnel directorate and deputy director for plans and integration, will now serve as CIO Lt. Gen. William Bender’s deputy, an Air Force public affairs official confirmed to FedScoop.

A career Air Force official, Marion provided IT to Air Force human resources officials stateside and on the battlefield in his previous position. Marion has also served in separate stints as chief technology officer of the Air Force’s Space Command and the Air Combat Command.
