Patent office’s open data efforts detailed in new report

As the U.S. patent office has been working to boost its open data offerings, a new report offers a look at where the agency currently stands.
David Stegon was a staff reporter for FedScoop and StateScoop from 2011-2014.
The Department of Education is taking its data to the people.
The agency is spearheading a new initiative to make more of its data open and developer-friendly via web application programming interfaces, also known as APIs.
The department wants feedback from the public as to which datasets and online tools should be more open.
