Department of Veterans Affairs Special Assistant to the Chief Technology Officer Rachel Lunsford to Speak at FedScoop’s MobileGov: Citizen Engagement on the Go

FedScoop has confirmed that Rachel Lunsford, Special Assistant to the Chief Technology Officer at Department of Veterans Affairs will speak at MobileGov: Citizen Engagement on the Go, June 28, 2011, Hotel Monaco, Washington, D.C.

Rachel Lunsford serves as a Special Assistant to the Chief Technology Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has been a major contributor to two Secretarial initiatives: VLER and Open Government. As a member of the Blue Button team that delivered the personal health record download capability for Veterans, Rachel fosters open communication and collaboration inside and outside of VA. In 2010, she led the development and implementation of VA’s Open Government Plan.

Prior to working with the CTO, Rachel provided program management, analysis, and oversight for the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology at VA. She provided guidance and assistance to implement projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Rachel provided program management support to report IT investments to OMB’s IT Dashboard.

Rachel completed a Master of Science in Public Policy from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University. She currently resides in Arlington, VA with her husband, Chris.
