Foreign exchange program exposes Middle Eastern girls to computer coding

The State Department program, started in 2011, introduces nearly 30 teenage girls from the Middle East to Java programming and advanced computer coding.
The General Services Administration will host the first in a series of webinars focused on application programming interfaces on Thursday, July 19, 10 a.m. to 11a.m. EDT.
API Webinar Series Part I: APIs for Dummies–an Introduction to APIs will highlight the basics of APIs, how they're being leveraged both in the private and public sectors, and how agencies can get started building their own.
Panelists will include representatives from NASA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. GSA Digital Services Innovation Center Senior API Strategist Gray Brooks will moderate the discussion.
