Americans love junk science to hint at who might win the White House.
There's the Redskins Rule. There's the sale of Halloween masks.
Two top Washington bakeries asked customers to put their money where their mouth is in an election season cupcake campaign. Both Georgetown Cupcake and The Sweet Lobby have been monitoring the sale of candidate-inspired confections.
Orders for Democrat red velvet cupcakes outsold Republican cakes by 10 percent at Georgetown Cupcake. At The Sweet Lobby, "Obamamac" macarons outsold "Romneymacs" by nearly 50 percent.
If this confection election is any indication how the rest of the country goes, it looks like sweet victory may belong to President Obama.
