USPS: ‘Ready to deliver’ on Cyber Monday demands

The U.S. Postal Service says it’s ready to meet the shipping demands brought on by Cyber Monday, the world’s biggest Web-based shopping day of the year.

“The holiday season is our Super Bowl, with 365 million packages expected to be delivered by the Postal Service this year,” said USPS Domestic Products Vice President Gary Reblin. “Whether it’s Cyber Monday or any day, USPS will continue to take a leadership role as a catalyst of e-commerce trade between consumers and online merchants.”

According to the National Retail Federation, 51.8 percent of people will take advantage of online sales this year, which is expected to reach nearly $100 billion this holiday season.
