Breakout II
11:30 AM–12:05 PM
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Program was created to meet the requirements of Maryland Senate Bill 676 that required implementation of comprehensive protection mechanisms to safeguard the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for the citizens of Maryland. MDOT initiated this program in 2015 and relied on the Network Managed Services contractors—CACI and ServBeyond Solutions, to implement a solution to meet the governance, planning, compliance and operational and technical challenges associated with the enterprise implementation of the DLP program. As of February 2018, the program has successfully completed the deployment of the technical solution and data monitoring phases throughout the MDOT enterprise. The program is unique because it is centrally managed by the MDOT Office of the Secretary and touches 10,000 users and over 25,000 end points. Additional program phases are planned to continue to integrate more advanced capabilities.
Program Highlights
- An adaptive technical architecture to integrate various technologies in a phased approach
- Creation of a governance framework for the enterprise
- Centralized Administration and Policy enforcement
