Wrap-up
A packed house at The Willard InterContinental saw some of the most influential speakers in the government cybersecurity community come together for the 2018 Security Through Innovation Summit. DHS's Jeanette Manfra kicked off the event talking collaboration with the private sector to safeguard the nation’s most essential functions from cyberattacks, while the FBI’s Howard Marshall closed with remarks on how the agency is approaching cyber readiness, outreach and intelligence.
The need for more collaboration on cybersecurity problems between government and industry was a common theme throughout the day. The event also looked at the future of programs like FedRAMP and CDM, the need for female role models in the cybersecurity field and exploring the use of solutions like predictive analytics, machine learning and other emerging technologies.
