Justice CIO Melinda Rogers on securing national security systems

At the recent CyberScoop’s Zero Trust Summit, Melinda Rogers, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Department of Justice (DOJ), discussed the department’s critical focus on implementing a zero-trust security architecture. Given the DOJ’s handling of highly sensitive information, Rogers emphasized that the security standards required are significantly higher than those at other civilian agencies.

During her conversation with Wyatt Kash from Scoop News Group, Rogers outlined the DOJ’s journey towards modernizing its cybersecurity infrastructure. The shift towards a zero-trust architecture is aimed at enhancing the protection of national security systems and the sensitive information they contain, aligning with the broader government mandate to bolster cybersecurity defenses.
