The Expanding AI Voices Act would have the National Science Foundation award minority-serving institutions with funds to expand AI-related research efforts.

The initiative is intended to develop new military capabilities and address racial disparities in Pentagon R&D funding.

Experts say the grant will provide black students, who are traditionally underrepresented in STEM and cybersecurity fields, with more job opportunities.
