Jon Booth
Director, Website & New Media Group
CMS/HHS
Jon Booth is the Director of the Web & New Media Group in the CMS Office of Communications (OC). In this position, Jon oversees the CMS public websites program, which includes Healthcare.gov, Medicare.gov, CMS.gov, Medicaid.gov, InsureKidsNow.gov, and other websites.

Most recently, Jon has overseen the migration of the Healthcare.gov website from HHS to CMS and the relaunch of that website focused on the Health Insurance Marketplace program. Jon is leading a team consisting of internal CMS staff and contract developers that are building parts of the HealthCare.gov Marketplace systems for the next Marketplace open enrollment period.

Prior to this position, Jon was the Deputy Director of the Creative Services Group. In this position he led the launch of the Agency’s social media channels as well as the Medicare & You Web project.

Jon has worked throughout CMS through his career and has supported the launch of the Agency’s websites, IT governance, and numerous communication initiatives. Jon has been at CMS for 20 years.

Christopher O’Connell
VP, Public Sector
Appian
Christopher O’Connell is Vice President of the Public Sector at Appian Corporation where he has successfully positioned Appian as the BPM leader in the Federal government. A passionate advocate for innovation and effectiveness in government, Mr. O’Connell is focused on the rapid delivery of Cloud, Mobile and Social-based solutions for Federal agencies and their customers.

Mr. O’Connell spent 14 years of his career in Public Sector consulting where he led the design of more than $3.5 billion in ground-breaking IT development and modernization efforts for the Federal government. Mr. O’Connell previously served as Vice President of Federal Services for Appian, as well as Delivery Program Executive for IBM Global Business Services, and Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand.

Prior to entering the Federal space, Mr. O’Connell, who holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland College Park, worked as a Multimedia Producer at Reuters.

Wyatt Kash is an accomplished business media executive and award-winning editor and journalist who has been following government IT trends for the past decade in senior leadership roles at InformationWeek Government, AOL Government, Government Computer News and Defense Systems.
