Verizon’s Nick Nilan says modernization is about cultural change and more

Nick Nilan, Director of Public Sector Product Development at Verizon, says IT modernization is about upgrading IT infrastructure – including the networks and the applications which support mission and outcomes.

Outcomes include where the agency is going, what citizens and constituents expect from that agency, and driving change back into those outcomes, and that in that mission. He says modernization means upgrading systems and platforms, but also it’s about cultural change. To make sure people are ready and flexible to change with the IT infrastructure.
