USPS CIO Pritha Mehra talks tackling massive data with enterprise view

Pritha Mehra, CIO of the United States Postal Service, discussed the organization’s approach to transforming its vast data (over 115 petabytes) into actionable insights. They established a Chief Data Analytics Office for data governance and AI governance, moving from siloed data ownership to an enterprise view. The focus is on mission-critical data sets, ensuring accurate data definitions and proper data placement across various cloud platforms. Event brokers facilitate data access. Cybersecurity strategies include secure coding practices, multi-factor authentication, and network segmentation, supported by the NIST and zero-trust frameworks.
