Army’s Andrew Evans on AI’s military transformation

Andrew Evans, Director of the U.S. Army’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Task Force, discussed AI’s transformative impact on military operations. He highlighted AI’s role in managing the exponential data growth, focusing on four key questions: who, where, when, and what type of fight?  Evans also emphasized the challenges of defining AI use cases, aligning them with military value and ensuring trustworthy AI models. He noted the difficulty in training AI with military-grade data and the cultural shift needed to trust AI-generated decisions.
