Snowden: U.S. should modernize disclosure process

Noted NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden weighed in Monday, calling for the U.S. government to be more proactive when it comes to disclosing its defensive cybersecurity capabilities.

With every passing hour, details pointing to Russia’s involvement in the Democratic National Committee e-mail hack are coming to light. 

Numerous reports say the FBI is looking at Russia’s involvement, with motives tied to influencing the upcoming presidential election. Another report looks at how DNC staffers were hacked once they started doing opposition research on Donald Trump’s inner circle. The entire operation also calls into question whether the incident crosses the line of a “digital act of war.”
