Merritt was the health research agency’s first permanent chief information officer in roughly two years.

Merritt was most recently the chief information officer of the intelligence community. Her selection follows the installation of a permanent HHS CIO.

Adele Merritt officially took the role, which is within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, in late January.
