Marines and Sailors assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) take on supplies from the USNS Kanawha April 4, 2013. The MEU is currently deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
