Days after John Bartrum’s exit, John Figueroa takes up the reins of the agency charged with modernizing veteran health records for a second time.

The Patient Advocate Tracking System-Replacement was transferred to the cloud in 2023 and was not properly assessed for risk as it contains medical record access.

John Bartrum, who led the Veterans Health Administration’s rollout of electronic health record modernization, said he is leaving public service.
