While the tool has roots in GSA, Zach Whitman says the agency is now learning from users across the government.

The General Services Administration is evaluating major AI models based on performance and other metrics, its chief AI officer said in an interview.

The chatbot comes amid anxieties that the federal government could use AI to replace the loss of human capital from recent Trump administration reductions in force.
