On today’s episode of The Daily Scoop Podcast, the General Services Administration is dividing up $150 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding between 14 different citizen-facing digital service projects.

Diversity of vendors is key when it comes to providing services to the government, says John Zangardi, president at Redhorse Corporation and former Department of Homeland Security Chief Information Officer. Multiple providers creates competition and helps with risk management, according to Zangardi.

Kathy Conrad of Accenture Federal Services discusses what federal C-level leaders should focus on when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion and where this initiative may fit into the coming President’s Management Agenda.

Federal agency managers say they are using data to make decisions more than ever. Alissa Czyz, acting director for strategic issues at the Government Accountability Office, says 16 of 24 agencies are reporting statistically significant increases in performance data use.
