Survey: U.S. insurers earned $1B in cyber premiums last year

U.S. insurers took in almost $1 billion in premiums last year for writing cybersecurity policies, according to new figures from credit analysts at Fitch Ratings.

The Office of Management and Budget announced via Twitter that President Obama has named Jeff Zients as OMB acting director.

Zients, OMB’s deputy director for management and the government’s chief performance officer, replaces Jack Lew who left to become President Obama’s chief of staff when Bill Daley resigned last week.
Zients served as OMB acting director from July 2010 to November 2010 between the departure of former director Peter Orszag and Lew.
