Navy R&D awards $34M cloud migration contract to CSRA
The Department of the Navy awarded CSRA a $34.6 million contract Thursday to help migrate its Research and Development Establishment to the cloud.
The one-year blanket purchase agreement includes two additional yearlong options and will provide cloud migration, engineering and maintenance services to the Navy’s Science and Technology community through both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure cloud systems.
Officials from the Falls Church, Virginia-based information technology provider said in a statement that the contract represents the Navy’s first managed services cloud program.
“CSRA is proud to expand our commercial cloud offerings to more Navy customers,” said Nick Trzcinski, CSRA’s Vice President for Navy & USMC, in a statement. “With this new BPA, CSRA will support the Navy’s Research and Development community through easy access to commercial cloud services and the lowest possible cost barrier to entry.”
CSRA previously secured a $498-million contract in June to provide cloud services to the Department of Defense for its milcloud 2.0 cloud platform.
