Bureau of Labor Statics’ security leader discusses network complexity and new perimeter defenses

Robert “Bobby” Holstein says it’s not the increased volume of traffic, per se, but the complexity of networks that requires a more secure, sharpened edge to replace traditional firewalls. Operations departments are looking for capabilities like SSL traffic inspection, encryption for data in transit, deep packet inspection and policy enforcement points to improve the security of complex traffic flows in today’s hybrid cloud network environment.
