DOT CIO Pradhan to step down

U.S. Department of Transportation Chief Information Officer Nitin Pradhan announced he will step down from the position he held for three years and return to work in the private sector.

No details were provided on Pradhan’s future plans. A DOT press release said simply that he will “focus on advising and growing the next generation of technology companies, products and services focused on delivering results for the public sector.”

Effective August 31, DOT Deputy CIO Tim Schmidt will begin serving as acting CIO.

“We have been able to transform DOT IT from a technical service provider to a valued and trusted business technology partner for the entire department. I am happy with the success we have achieved and will always cherish my memories of working with DOT and all my colleagues and I look forward to their continued success,” Nitin said.
