DOT Seeks Chief Information Security Officer

The Department of Transportation is looking for a chief information security officer. The job pays between $119,554 and $172,500 and is open for applications until April 16.

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) provides leadership and Departmental guidance for the Information Assurance and Security Program.  This includes oversight and compliance, verification and validation activities relating to the Department’s implementation of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

The CISO also provides leadership in the oversight, analysis and directional management of Information Technology Security Departmentwide investments related to data and information system confidentiality, availability and integrity.

In addition, the CISO works with strategic leaders throughout Government to leverage innovative and contemporary approaches to IT security and develops new methods and systems for delivering a more secure environment and appropriate risk management.
