DOT seeks head of cyber operations

The Department of Transportation is searching for a director of cyber security operations. The job pays between $123,758 and $155,500 per year and is open for applications until Jan. 14.

Serves as the Director of Cyber Security Operations who oversees the management of the Departmental Enterprise IT Security Program, e.g . ensures that appropriate management, operational and technical control programs are included in the DOT Enterprise security program.

Plans and manages the agency’s IT Assurance and Security Programs.  Serves as an expert in the field of IT security, provides authoritative advice, guidance, and consultation to top agency management officials regarding all aspects of security and integrating the agency’s program with programs of other operating modes.

Supervises and plans the coordination and implementation of IT security programs of all organizations within DOT.

Conducts DOT-wide IT systems security reviews/audits vulnerability assessments, risk assessments or evaluations regarding compliance with security requirements in accordance with applicable government regulations to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies, procedures and regulations.

Advises management on all aspects of information security in regards to supporting the mission of the agency.
