Army publishes new guidance for branch networks

The U.S. Army has published new guidance for a single, secure, standards-based network.

The Army added two new appendices to its guide “End-State Army Enterprise Network Architecture” that provide further guidance on Army networks.2012_06_usarmy

According to the Army, the new  Technical Guidance & Repository (Appendix A) is a necessary condition for achieving interoperability and implementing the COE and Everything over Internet Protocol (EoIP) architectures. The guidance provides standards for the deployed tactical network and the enterprise network at Posts/Camps/Stations. It is also aligned to the timeline for Army network Capability Sets.

Also, the new Deployed Tactical Network Guidance (Appendix D) defines the “end state” of the tactical network architecture and provides technical guidance on current and future tactical network systems. It focuses on transport, applications, services and network operations.
