Low salaries, background checks hinder FBI’s cybersecurity recruitment
July 31, 2015
The FBI cannot compete with the private sector when it comes to attracting top cybersecurity talent, according to a new FBI OIG report.
David Stegon was a staff reporter for FedScoop and StateScoop from 2011-2014.
Zachary J. Lemnios, assistant secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, recently submitted his resignation to President Obama, his office told FedScoop.
It’s not clear whether Lemnios will be retiring, accepting another job within government or taking a position in the private sector.
A Senate-confirmed presidential appointee, Lemnios has served since July of 2009.
