Puppies, Planes and Petitions: A Look at ‘We the People’

So what has the country’s citizens most fired up these days? Dogs and airport security.

Taking a look at “We the People,” the Obama administration’s new e-petition website, the two leading petitions call for a crack down on puppy mills and for the government to abolish the Transportation Safety Administration and use its budget for more sophisticated, less intrusive counter-terrorism intelligence.

Both petitions have received enough signatures to get an official response from a White House policy advisor. Other leading petitions as of this morning include allowing for the growth of industrial hemp, end the “War on Drugs” and dissolve the Electoral College.
