The Patent and Trademark Office just got a new chief artificial intelligence officer and is eyeing more drafting and searching tools, Deborah Stephens said.

Google and Samsung Wallet users can use the licenses to verify their identity, GSA announced, in an effort to combat artificial intelligence-generated deepfakes.

The mid-June breach exposed names, dates of birth, medical testing information, lab test results, health insurance data and partial Social Security numbers, a VA email said.

The agency’s Missing and Murdered Unit will use Clearview AI tools to “rapidly identify and locate missing persons, crime victims, and suspects nationwide,” contracting documents said.

The $1 per user deal will now be available until Oct. 31, according to a website update.
