House Oversight Republicans have renewed an initial May request for information about departments' telework policies.

Leaders at the Departments of State and Commerce will have until Aug. 9 to provide further information about the intrusion to the GOP-led committee.

They seek information about why it took two months to notify Congress about the incident, which exposed the data of 254,000 Medicare beneficiaries.

Hackers reportedly sought to collect credentials from scientists at research facilities that carry out work on the U.S. nuclear stockpile.

Details of the new subcommittee structure have yet to be finalized, and a vote on the change is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
