The United States Patent and Trademark Office is looking for a lead budget analyst to work in the Office of the Chief Information Officer. The salary is between $105,211 to $136,771 per year. The application deadline is December 9.
The individual selected for this position leads a team performing budget administration work in one or more of the following areas: budget formulation, budget execution, cost accounting, and/or project funding to include activities such as:
- preparing budget estimates and justifications
- reviewing and editing budget submissions for conformance with procedures and guidelines
- tracking commitments and obligations
- monitoring availability of funds
- reviewing transactions for completeness and accuracy
- preparing quarterly financial reviews
- preparing project resource estimates
- advising project managers on resource spending and monitoring
- preparing input for an organization’s Capital Planning process
- identifies, analyzes, and resolves budgetary problems, developing alternative solutions
- locates and analyzes data, prepare reports for substantive programs using accounting systems
- persuades managers and officials to accept and approve recommended funding requests, budgetary actions, and estimates
- reviews, analyzes, and interprets legislation, appropriation language, executive orders, and OMB circulars and bulletins
