Derived credentials will let feds use smartphones for ID

Government agencies will soon be able to replace the familiar Personal Identity Verification card with a smartphone equipped with a secure chip, two vendors say.

The Office of Personnel Management released an instructional video that looks to help job seekers find and apply for employment within the federal government. The nearly 12-minute video covers topics like searching for federal jobs, creating an online account and profile, managing that account, reviewing job opportunities, submitting applications and following-up on your application status.
