Report: Pentagon to add 4K cyber professionals

The Department of Defense plans to add more than 4,000 people to the department’s cyber command in the coming months, a Pentagon official told The New York Times.

The new hires would greatly increase the department’s number of cyber personnel, which currently stands at about 900. In the article, defense officials said that a formidable challenge in the growth of the cyber command would be finding enough qualified people to fill the positions.

The Pentagon “is constantly looking to recruit, train and retain world class cyberpersonnel,” a defense official told The New York Times on Sunday.
