The Data at the Point of Care pilot is part of the MyHealthEData initiative that launched Blue Button 2.0.

The group made the announcement at the Blue Button 2.0 developers conference at the White House on Monday.

Since the launch of Blue Button 2.0, Seema Verma explained, CMS has seen more than 600 developers “that are starting to look at our data” to build on top of the platform.

It’s an update to the original Blue Button built by CMS and the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2010.
The agency also curbed “shadow IT” to promote more robust apps, said CIO Rajiv Uppal.
Within 24 hours of visiting a VA facility, veterans will be able to access their updated health information in the Apple Health app, according to the VA’s plans.
