The Army released its 2012 Modernization Plan that focuses on how next year’s budget request looks to equip the Army for the 21st century.
The plan describes three interrelated priorities: Network the force, protect and empower soldiers and deter and defeat hybrid threats.
“The Army Modernization Strategy establishes a goal to develop and field a versatile and affordable mix of equipment to allow Soldiers and units to succeed in full-spectrum operations today and tomorrow and to maintain our decisive advantage over any enemy we face,” said LG Robert Lennox, U.S. Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8. “It lays out the ends, ways and means to execute senior leaders’ priorities within projected resources and at prudent risk.”
