The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Services is looking for a supervisory information technology specialist for policy and planning. The job pays between $123,758 and $155,500 per year and is open for applications until October 26.
Plans and directs the activities of the IT Division:
- Serves as principle advisor to the CIO and other senior NRCS managers on acquisition and management of IT resources.
- Guides and coordinates NRCS-wide strategic IT planning, compliance with federal mandates, budget formulation and programmatic oversight.
Supervises staff of the IT Division:
- Establishes an organizational environment that positively influences employees’ ability to deliver high quality products and services.
- Exercises authority to recommend or take personnel actions regarding selection, promotion, classification, training, discipline, and performance management.
- Continuously reviews division performance and identifies opportunities for qualitative and quantitative improvement.
- Manages division resources to maximize the effective and efficient use of funds, equipment, and employee skills.
- Manages development of policy and guidance for planning and implementing OCIO program requirements and ensures proper alignment with the NRCS strategic plan.
- Leads ongoing assessment and process improvement initiatives to streamline program operations, reduce processing time, achieve program goals, and manage risk.
- Serves as an expert advisor on matters pertaining to evaluating and improving the efficiency of internal administrative practices, organization, and management of the Agency elements.
