SSA Building New National Data Facility

The Social Security Administration is getting a new national data facility.

The General Services Administration recently acquired a site in Frederick County, Md., to host the new facility.

According to GSA, the new building will incorporate innovative sustainable technologies, using energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, on-site renewable energy sources, water conservation, and the use of sustainable materials.

“We are delighted to take another important step towards replacing our outdated building and moving our critical technology to a modern facility,” said Michael Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security.
