Cybersecurity Visionary
Nick Andersen became CISA’s acting director in February 2026 after leading the agency’s Cybersecurity Division. He oversees an organization charged with helping federal agencies, critical infrastructure operators and state and local partners manage cyber and physical risks. Andersen brings federal cybersecurity leadership experience to a period of significant operational demands, including strengthening defenses against sophisticated threats and supporting partners ahead of the 2026 elections. His leadership centers on translating the agency’s technical capabilities into practical protection for the systems on which Americans rely.
