State seeks office director for CIO office

The Department of State is looking for an office director to work with the deputy chief information officer for operations. The job pays between $119,554 and $179,700 per year and is open for applications until October 18.

The Office Director reports directly to the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Operations.

As Office Director, the incumbent manages, oversees, and directs the Department’s critical worldwide enterprise  operations, global telecommunications services, network engineering and design, network lifecycle management and telecommunications, wireless and data services programs, functions and activities that support and enable the achievement of the Department’s most important  global foreign policy goals and objectives.

The incumbent ensures this is accomplished through management of five Divisions, which include the Enterprise Operations Division, Global Telecommunications Services, Network Engineering and Design, Network Lifecycle Management, and the Telecommunications, Wireless and Data Services Division.

The incumbent advises the Deputy CIO for Operations on all issues relating to worldwide communications networks and the incorporation of telecommunications technology in the formulation of strategies to support Department of State foreign policy goals and objectives.

He/she develops long-range plans, policies and strategies for Divisions supervised and ensures key national and Department goals, priorities and values are considered in implementing ENM’s decision-making process.

The Office Director identifies possible contingencies, resource requirements for Divisions managed, structures work for Division programs and projects and ensures the Division recommendations, and decisions accurately reflect overall policies, plans, and objectives of the Administration, Department, and Bureau.
