The CIO Council has launched 2013 IT Job Shadow Day.
The initiative, which runs from January 31 to May 1, aims to educate and engage high school students in a variety of information technology careers within the federal government. Participating students will shadow federal technology professionals at federal workplaces.
The goal is to have students learn about the innovative work being done to improve transparency, communication and cost efficiencies for the country’s citizens.
The initiative has a goal this year to increase the number of participating agencies and education institutions across the United States, not just around Washington, D.C.
