FITARA fixer? OMB looks to hire policy analyst in e-gov office
The White House’s Office of Management and Budget is looking for a little more help crafting federal IT policy.
OMB has posted a job listing for a policy analyst, someone to join its Office of E-Government and Information Technology.
The position, according to the listing, “will develop and analyze policies to help ensure that federal agencies spend their IT dollars both efficiently and effectively, including developing cogent policy recommendations, analyses of alternatives, and viable strategies for implementation across a wide spectrum of federal sector IT issues.”
The job is a two-year position but may be extended to up to four years. Term positions are jobs that are needed due to an increase in project workloads or uncertainty of future funding, and have a definitive end date.
OMB is in the process of rolling out guidelines for the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, which federal CIO Tony Scott recently called the “biggest federal IT legislation in a decade.”
OMB is looking for someone between a GS-13 and GS-15 level for the position, and would pay between $90,823 and $158,700 per year.
