Maria Cino has been named HP’s Vice President of Government Relations for the Americas, the company announced.
Cino will oversee HP’s relationships with governments throughout the Americas, working closely with other companies, associations and coalitions on issues of mutual interest. She also will manage HP political programs in the United States, including overseeing the HP political action committee.
Cino will be based in Washington, D.C., and will report to Gregg Melinson, vice president of global government relations.
Cino joins HP from Pfizer, where she was federal government relations vice president since 2009. Prior to that, she served as president and chief executive officer of the 2008 Republican National Convention.
She has held two Senate-confirmed presidential appointments—deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, and assistant secretary and director general of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service—as well as a number of other positions within the executive and legislative branches of government.
