Aaron Bishop
Federal Leadership
Aaron Bishop became the department’s chief information security officer in 2026 after serving as CISO for the Department of the Air Force before that point. In the Pentagon role, he helps set cybersecurity direction across a vast network of military organizations, systems and partners. His responsibilities span cyber risk, defensive priorities and the policies needed to protect information while supporting operational missions. Bishop’s move from a military department to the enterprise-level post gives him firsthand experience with the challenge of turning departmentwide security goals into workable practices. He is helping shape how the defense enterprise strengthens its cyber posture while modernizing the technology warfighters use.
