In an effort to help encourage private sector technology innovation and spur U.S. economic growth, NASA launched the Technology Transfer Portal on Wednesday that allows the general public to easily search and leverage the agency’s intellectual property portfolio for commercial use.

The new website, located at technology.nasa.gov, centralizes data from all NASA field centers and headquarters and simplifies access to technology and licensing opportunities.

“A priority of NASA is to get federally-funded new technologies into the commercial marketplace,” said NASA Chief Technologist Mason Peck in a prepared statement. “We’re hopeful that entrepreneurs, businesses of all sizes and anyone looking for innovative solutions to technology problems will explore NASA’s Technology Transfer Portal to find opportunities to transfer NASA technologies into innovative solutions for the nation.”
