Kaschit Pandya leads IRS-wide technology activities supporting tax processing, compliance, taxpayer services, online accounts and the agency’s workforce. The role spans customer-facing applications, enterprise platforms, infrastructure, data services and cybersecurity. An August 2026 update to the IRS’s IT organization guidance identifies Pandya as CIO and describes an organization structured around those core functions. His challenge is to keep systems dependable during filing seasons while improving the digital services taxpayers and tax professionals use throughout the year. The scale and public importance of tax administration make the IRS technology portfolio one of the federal government’s most consequential.
