Mangala Kuppa

Mangala Kuppa leads the Department of Labor’s technology portfolio and continues to serve as its chief AI officer. Her responsibilities include cybersecurity resilience, modernization of older systems and the adoption of emerging technologies that can improve the department’s services. Kuppa has helped develop Labor’s AI strategies and enterprise data platform, giving the agency a stronger foundation for using information across programs. With more than 25 years of public- and private-sector experience, she brings technical and management expertise to a department serving workers, employers and retirees. Her work aims to make technology investments useful across that broad mission while keeping the underlying systems secure.
