Cameron Stanley
Federal Leadership
Cameron Stanley was tapped in early 2026 to head the Pentagon’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, which works to make data, analytics and AI more useful across defense missions. His tenure came at a critical juncture as the Department of Defense rolled out GenAI.mil to more than 1.7 million unique users across the military, about 500,000 of whom are considered power users. Prior to becoming CDAO, he served as national security transformation lead for Amazon Web Services and as chief data officer for the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. Stanley also served as chief of the Pentagon’s Algorithmic Warfare Cross-Functional Team, better known as Project Maven.
